Niaux's
cave is known for the quality of its prehistoric, painted paintings
more than 12000 years ago. You will walk around 800m, then you will
discover the " black Salon ", paintings of which are renowned
at international level for their quality. More than 100 shows painted
in the dioxide of manganese evoke prehistoric fauna.

The
cave of Lombrive-
RN20 - Ussat-les-Baims
The
greatest cave of the European community fitted out for the public, is
a vast subterranean universe and possesses rich concretions isolated
in circles of long fantastic galleries: the mammoth, Pyrène's
grave, Bébrix's throne, the room in thousand columns... Lombrive
becomes a musician with several concerts in the interior of the cave
during summer. Access by a small train by a panoramic way. Conducted
tours permanently.
Open
:July and August, visit all the days 10 hours to 19H (about all the
15 minutes). Springs vacation, June and September, Sundays Saturdays
and holidays of the Rameaux to November 11: visit at 10 o'clock and
10 hour 45 and of 14 hour at 17 o'clock 30 (all the 45 minutes). May:
visit all the 45 minutes 14 hour at 17 o'clock 30 in week. Saturdays,
Sundays and holidays in outsides of preceding periods: visit at 14

Le
Mas d'Azil's cave

Le Mas d'Azil
Dug
in the heart of Plantaurel (region of Pyrenees), It offers a complex
unique underground passage in Europe. Approachable by a natural tunnel
today crossed by a road which goes along the river of Arize, it was
for a long time a refuge for animals: rhinoceros, bear, mammoths and
for the magdaléniens people to the Huguenots. In the cave,
a sound and light is presented to you as well as a scene reconstituting
a home magdalénien, unique spectacle in cavities.

The
cave of the Cow

Discover
the environment of the first mountain dwellers to the end of the glacial
era ( 12000 - 15000 years), their game, their weapons, their tools,
their art of the decoration. Visit allows to reach the famous room
"Monique", where the prehistoric camp of the hunters was
able to be reconstituted after 20 years of searches.
Period
of opening : Holidays of pâques and of All Saints' Day,
from April 01 till June 30 and from September 01 till September 30:
visit all days at 15 o'clock and 16 hours 30. From July 01 till August
31 visit all days from 10 o'clock till 17 o'clock 30. From October
01 till March 31 on meeting (except holidays). For the groups, all

Bédeilhac's
cave - Bédeilhac
In
July, 1906, the abbot H. Breuil discovered for the first time in the
Ariege, prehistoric paintings in this cave. Since, the specialists
made a great deal of discoveries. This site was sanctuary, environment
and sepulture for the man during more than 10000 years. You will see
the terminal room where the hunters - cueilleurs magdaléniens
painted and engraved bison's and horses, Rennes and ibexes, 15000
years ago. The low relief modeled in clay are unique in the world.
Period
of opening : Winter and Christmas holidays, visits from 14 o'clock
30 till 16 o'clock 30 except December 25 and January 01. From July
07 till August 31 visit all days from 10 o'clock till 17 o'clock 30.
From October 01 till March 31 Sundays and holidays, visit at 15 o'clock.
