Whether on foot, by bike or on horseback, the possibilities are endless.

The Ariège offers breathtaking panoramasanddiverse landscapes which vary across the region, fromthe Haut-Couserans Valley, to the Haute Ariège Valley, the Vicdessos Valley, and the Pyrenean Piedmont.

The GR10 long-distance footpath crosses the Ariège from east to west. You will be able to soak up breathtaking views and spot all sorts of wildlife: from exceptional flora, to marmots, bears, wild boars, chamois and erminesamidst vast wild landscapes, where eagles and kestrels fly overhead. As you meander along the footpaths of the Ariège, you will also be able to discover the Cathar castles of Roquefixade and Montségur and many other fascinating sites, such as the region’s Romanesque churches.
